Macbeth

For my Macbeth cover design, I wanted to focus on Lady Macbeth and her role in the narrative. So, I wanted to reimagine Lady Macbeth in my own way, I started off the project with sketching out how I wanted Lady Macbeth to look, then I moved onto drawing out composition ideas for the cover.
Once I had decided on which composition to take forward, I did a more detailed version of the linework and developed that into the final cover artwork. I also made a repeating pattern to go with the cover artwork. For the repeating pattern I wanted to highlight the themes of the narrative, so I included iconography that would like to elements of the plot, such as the cauldron to represent the witches that drive the narrative with their predictions, the spellbook to represent the supernatural elements of the book, and crows to represent the impending deaths in the narrative, as crows are a symbol of death and impending doom.
